I’m a Jane of all trades. And master at many. As a career advertising writer, I’ve written for the top ad agencies in Orange County—for brands from Oakley, PacSun, Wet Seal and Irvine Company Resort Properties to Land Rover, Jaguar and Mazda to Mattel, Sony and more. I also write for OC public relations firms and am a columnist for many Orange County magazines, which have included Pelican Hill Magazine, Bask, Laguna Beach Magazine, as well as CBSLA, OC Family Magazine and many others. Finally, I’m hired as a Social Influencer and Brand Ambassador for local OC brands from etnies to Legoland, in all arenas from kids and family to fashion and beauty. It’s a little of this, a little of that, and a lot of love for what I do with gratitude for those I work with. [read more]

Pirate Coast Paddle Company is next level for kids | Camp & everyday

| Orange County | No Comments

Pirate Coast is what’s up in SUP. They’re the biggest SUP rental scene in OC and have a crew who’s ridiculously cool for SUP Camp. They show kids how to stand up paddle with a mix of fresh fun. My two SUP campers are kind of like the Pirate kid mascots. They’ve been fans and have attended camp for about the last…

The 2016 OC Fair is all fun and games once more

| Orange County | No Comments

Some traditions are worth keeping. The OC Fair is one of those legendary must-see’s each year. And as your family changes, so do what you go to see and do. Some years, it’s all about the food. Other years, the gadgets. This year, the rides were right up there. And for many, it’s all about the food—every year. The 2016 OC…

Newbies to hot shots, Pirate Coast SUP Summer Camp is perfect

| Orange County | No Comments

We’re big fans of Pirate Coast, and have been for many years now. So much so that we even got our own SUP boards after a few years of hanging with the Back Bay crew. My 10-yr. old knows all the tricks, my 12-yr old is more into chillaxin’ on her board and my 5-yr. old recently stood up and…

Debbie Lavdas writer OC

The Downlow

– About Debbie Lavdas –

When I’m not writing, I’m either in Pilates class, on a paddle board with my kids and husband, trying to do a full lotus in yoga or dining out in search of more protein and less carbs—as a vegetarian on the Paleo diet. I could also be alfresco shopping for all things midcentury modern, or tending to our too-full animal house. It’s a full life, in which balance is key, and work is pleasure. Thanks for stopping by. Please get in touch if you’re in need of a writer. I love meeting new clients, who are nice people and make cool things.
