CBS is bringin’ sexy back. PLM hit the CBS Fall pilot preview screening of the shows to share what’s on, if you happen to have a little time off.
There was a range of themes, and if ya just watch the promos, sex sells the shows, but, as usual there’s more than meets the eye.
CW’s The Beautiful Life with Mischa and Disney’s Corbin is def a 20-somethings show or a wanna-see for teens, as its full of drama and fab fashion. At the screening we got the dl from producers, no Ashton though; they said he was too busy tweeting naked CW ads. Sounds about right. Lots of eye candy and runway flash.
A show that made my list included Accidentally on Purpose with Jenna Elfman. Very funny with great writing. Jenna becomes the unlikely Cougar who accidentally (maybe) gets knocked up and the baby daddy is barely drinking age, but endearingly sweet. Loved seeing her beyond her hippie Dharma role.
Also good is The Good Wife. It’s wrapped around the familiar sex scandal of today’s politics and a cheating husband. Julianna Margulies stars and brings respect and a relatable quality to her new on-screen life. All whom I talked to, including my partner in crime that day, Momfluential (Ciaran Blumenfeld), were on board with the court room drama.
And for some downright dirty naughtiness: Melrose Place is back. Yeah, baby. It’ll pull 20’s viewers, but invites original show fans (us) to indulge in the drama with characters like the oh-so-bad Dr. Michael Mancini and Sydney (but let’s just say, don’t get too attached to her), and more.
NCIS comes to LA with the eye candy LL Cool J himself, who the producers say is really all-smiles and a genuine great guy off-screen. He and Chris O’Donnel look to have ll cool chemistry.
One other interesting pilot is Three Rivers, the three paths of organ doors, recipients and doctors come together. Looks good, but heavy. Insightful stories though if you’re on the fence about being a donor or wonder what really happens. And we were told there would be uplifting storylines as live donor stories (kidneys, etc) happen everyday and are definitely part of the plot.
So there you go, OC moms—a topline to the top new CBS shows in the off-chance that you have some downtime on your hands.
