Seriously?! It's January.January 14, 2009 I know we’re all so lucky to live in sunny SoCal, and I should be all smiles, but come on, it’s January! Enough of the sun already. I want Storm Watch ‘09. I’m ready, I’m waiting, I want to be the Smart Mama who always knows just what to tell her kids to wear in the morning. I don’t have a clue lately. My 5-yr old style diva keeps pleading with me to let her wear her “back shirts” in the morning. I tell her she’s crazy; it’s January! Then I pick her up from school, it’s 87 degrees and I get the kid lecture that I knew was coming: “Mom, I really should have worn my back shirt. I was soooo (dramatic pause) hot!” I secretly roll my eyes, knowing she’s right. I want to be right. I want some rain. peace out

Mommy Moments Along the WayJanuary 07, 2009 So many things happened along the way as I was creating this site. Most recently, my adorable little, 3-yr. old Ty-phoon (little Ty-lenol, Mr. Ty-maintenance, etc.) shoved my laptop off the counter in an all-out tantrum, crashing it onto the tile floor and frying the internals. A serious Mommy Moment and $1,200 fit neither of us will forget. Then there was the moment I was filing the papers to get my business license. After three whirlwind, between-kid-dropoff trips in to the filing office, the can’t-be-ruffled, DMV-like lady behind the counter told me to quote: “relax,” as she gave me my Peace Love and Momminess papers. I didn’t miss the irony. And finally there was my really icky freelance client who wasn’t paying after 100 days, so I turned into the Wicked Witch (rhymes with) of the West. Every day’s a journey. Inhale, exhale, repeat, right? Here’s to an inspired path ahead and those kiddo hugs that seem to make everything better. peace out, mamas |

Everyday I hope to be a little more like my yellow lab, Teddy. He loves everything, everybody, and is only occasionally stressed by escalators.
