Small World, Big DayFebruary 01, 2009 We hit Disneyland yesterday, as PLM was invited to a sneak preview of the redesigned It’s a Small World attraction. Can’t share any scoop till Thurs. or Mickey may come get me. But one pre-tease: for the first time, kids will get to see some of their new small friends dressed as Disney characters! Who exactly? Check back Thursday. Another interesting ‘did ya know’ ... the ride, quote: “celebrates peace and honors humanity.” Hey, peace out to Mickey and Imagineering art director, Mary Blair. Okay, the mouse is now out of the bag on this 5th day of February: read all about it at Kids Corner.

Mom, Sweet, MomJanuary 29, 2009 So my mom’s in town this week from Florida and what a treat it is to always have her here (and Dad, too, of course)! Mom, whom we affectionately call Cinderella, is always cleaning, fixing and solving all the things I never have time to get to. Dishes are done, kids’ outgrown clothes get tagged and bagged, and many of my misc. to dos are checked off. Ahhhh, it’s good to have Moms around, especially when you are one.

I Paid The PriceJanuary 27, 2009 Last week was a busy week, so over the weekend I thought I’d blow off some steam with a straw-drop cocktail chased by a glass of Merlot (okay two). I was home by 9 and all seemed fine. Then came the next morning, and it was like a truck ran me over. (How did I survive the good old college days?) I’m switching to sulfite-free reds. I can take the headaches from the tantrums, the tv too loud, the game systems blaring, but after a Mommy timeout and chance to relax with some vino? That’s just wrong, right? peace out, mamas

Obama's In the HouseJanuary 20, 2009 Whatever your political views, you have to admit it, it feels like a pretty good day. New hope. The promise of more peace. And more open-minded ideas. I’m so up for what’s next. peace and love |
Down DogJanuary 16, 2009 After yoga with the kiddos, the mats were left out for awhile. I walked back in the room later only to find Teddy by himself doing a little downward dog, perfectly aligned. I think he wants to join class next time. I tell ya that dog is a daily exercise in love. His unspoken ways are too much. peace out |

Everyday I hope to be a little more like my yellow lab, Teddy. He loves everything, everybody, and is only occasionally stressed by escalators.
