It’s Day of the Dead at Discovery Science Center, and it makes for creepy, artsy culture.
The new Spooky Science: Skeletons exhibit is an interesting combo that runs now through Nov. 8th, and is worth checking out if you’ve got kids with a little morbid curiosity, a love of skeletal eye candy and an appreciation for neon, 3D creativity.
OC moms, you can also engage in some Mexican culture 101, if your kids are old enough to get the heritage. The lesson went over my little ones’ heads, but that didn’t much matter as they were ooh’ed and ahh’ed by everything else.
I asked my girl at the end of the day, “So what did you learn?” She hit me back with “Never touch a skeleton when it’s alive, because it’ll probably get ya or eat ya. And you can use skeletons to scare your brother—that’d be awesome!” (Note to self: scale back on Nickelodeon’s Creepy and Grossology shows.)
Some fun pics below.

Below I’m ghost-imaged, and it wasn’t a 3D effect or reflection. VERY weird.

In this last one, you can see me twice. It’s like Andy Warhol/Blair Witch. I creeped myself out.
