OC looks at OC life

"Come & Get It!" Lid's Off Disney's Summer Fun Pass.

April 27, 2009

PLM got the latest dish on What’s New and Next at the park’s media downlow Friday.

The mouse is outta the bag: Disney’s got a new 3-day Summer Fun Pass for $99. SoCal families: play for 3 days for $33 per day at either park (during a 45-day period). Dang!

OC moms, if you’ve been on the fence about Disney, Disney passes, a backyard staycation and all the options, you may want to hop off and get your Fun Pass, as that’s a deal and there’s more new going down:

•California Adventure’s Food and Wine Fest is on for the next 6 weeks. Sample reds and whites or tastes of ice-cold beers from around the globe. Pair with gourmet dishes, celeb cooking demos by Food Network’s Bad Boy Guy Fieri and more.

•There are new eats on the mouse side at the new Big Thunder Ranch BBQ. Toy Story pals entertain as families enjoy hearty helpings—and if you want more, just ask! Down-home rare hospitality. Even this Veggie Mama could dig in with tasty BBQ tofu skewers. (And there’s a surprise dessert kids will flip for.)

•The new “Celebrate! A Street Party” rocks Main Street with rock to conga. Serious energy and stilt dancing.

•Tweens and teens will dig the new TLT Dance Club at Tomorrowland Terrace. We caught an 80s band on stage with Devo hats, punk dos and Loverboy tunes.

•More new and next hits early June with Disney’s Summer Nightastic: The Fantasmic show will be seen in hi-def with a new 40-ft., fire-breathing dragon (that had to be helicoptered in). Tink will lead Disney’s brighter Electrical Parade and Pixie Hollow. And the grand finale: an all-new fireworks show leaves its mark with new effects, friends and magical sounds.

Props to Disney for keeping the dream alive for kids and helping parents make it attainable with the Summer Fun Pass, 2fer tickets, 2 Nights Free and Free for Your Birthday.
