OC looks at OC life
Cosi's Cookie-Straw Draw

Cosi's Cookie-Straw Draw

January 23, 2009

Whatever gets them in the door, right? Cosi makes for healthy OC eats the kids will go for.

Cosi restaurant is a secret South Coast stopover hidden away at the very back end of the Metro Pointe shopping area. The fun, cookie straws, packed with cookies & cream crumbles that goo up when they drink with milk, are what they remember, the healthy foods are what you sneak in under their nose.

“Simply good taste” is the Cosi mantra and they live up to it with a range of very good, quality menu options. Kids can choose flatbread pizza fresh from the open-flame stone oven and made from a two millennia-old recipe, and there is plenty for the big people to pick from ... salads, soups, shareables, melts, sandwiches and a Lighten Up menu Moms can appreciate.

The added appeal is that Cosi is a total kid-friendly spot (ask about the S’mores Kit) that’s refreshingly upscale and urbane with a side of inspired Parisian cafe vibe—a bonus for a spot with $7 dishes.

So check it out this weekend if you’re in the area. (There are only two in California: Costa Mesa and Temecua, so we’re lucky to be Cosi-close).
