Deal! I’m in! (...and rather tempted to immediately saturate my hands in hand sanitizer with out trying to hide it…)

I’m on a Grass Mom Movement to say no to the handshake … till Spring.
Who’s with me? It’s on. Really. I’m doing it this time. I’m over the traditional germ-to-germ petri dish handshake. And I’m done with the whole “Sure I’ll submit myself to ever germ, goo or gunk you may have unknowingly come in contact with, just so I don’t offend you” thing. Right?
It’s 2009, there’s the bump, the peace sign is back, Spock talk, heck I’ll even do this Homer between-the-legs thing. But no more hand-to-hand contact.
Manners, schmanners. Don’t get me wrong, I really like people and I’m no Howie Mandel germaphobe, I’m just over spending two seconds shaking someone’s hand then suffering a week on the couch of yuck and aches.
I don’t want the copays, the meds or the kids home from school (I need my hours off).
So if you’re with me—and I know you are—here’s some hand vamping for the season when a shake comes your way:
•Back away and fumble with your phone, glasses, whatever to cause distraction.
•Casually cough into your hand, then give the ‘Oh sorry’ wave.
•Anticipate the encounter and arm yourself with a coffee cup, coke or water, so they don’t even think about it.
And if somebody doesn’t like it, tell ‘em to talk to the hand—just don’t shake it.
By the way, are you get the Swine vaccine now that it’s avail?
Even the Dalai Lama’s on board, and everybody loves him:
