Avanti Café in Costa Mesa is one of those spots you might miss if you don’t know about it. Located off 17th Street, it’s small in size but big in concept. There’s a lot going on in this tucked away space, such as entertainment, arts and events.

Walk into Avanti and you’re instantly met with gourmet sauces, spices, teas, jams, wines and more. Head back a bit and you’ll see the display of fresh daily eats—all organic and handcrafted food from fresh, local farms. It’s a vegetarian spot, but you don’t have to be one to go, and many who go, aren’t.

The flavor is the attraction and OC moms will dig the grab-and-go frozen section; healthy dishes that are ready anytime. You can even let the kids pick a frozen tub of healthy cookie dough (no not an oxymoron, just creative recipes).

Avanti serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and a variety of drinks, including: wine, beer/ale, teas and coffee. If you’re throwing a party, they cater. And you can visit the site anytime for a virtual list of 30 gourmet recipes you can whip up yourself.
