| A Green New World |

PLM’s preview of The Cube’s new summer exhibit for eco-lovin’ little kids.
It was a return to life more simple at the oversized land. Fish, rivers, rocks and rangers created the backdrop, as kids zig-zagged throughout the area.
The new “Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl” Home Sweet Home exhibit is summer camp meets the urban forest. The free-for-all space invites kids to get hands-on green in all ways from mock-composting and rockclimbing to nature puppet play and and bonfire fun. The Ranger Station had my little campers radioing HQ, tracking situations on the computer and donning oversized Ranger brown on brown (so cute!). The just-their size, tactile space really put ‘em in the moment, among the elements and thinking green.
Through the forest, my little ones saw ... the Zamboni, and we were then off to Hockey exhibit, made our way downstairs for some Robot radar love, and finally returned to the land of Dinos for outdoor play. Raptors. Robots. And Rangers. Oh yeah.
OC Moms, let ‘em loose at The Cube. They’ll learn to “leave no trace,” grow their minds, and you’ll get to catch a break while they roam free. Here’s a special Discovery Science Center See-It-First 1/2 off deal for PLM readers (expires June 30th).
Watch the PLM video chat with our host, and tot mom herself, Julie Smith, who gives a great overview of the Cube’s green new world and shares news of the Summer Pass:
Also below is my quick 360° tour of the eco exhibit:
More Cube video chat on the Peace Love and Momminess You Tube Channel: see The Attempted Sit-Down, where Julie gives more general info about the Cube just before we’re interrupted by our Video Crashers. (What’s a mom to do?)
